| General Plan St. John of the Cross Parish (Parish Pastoral Council) We the parishioners of St. John of the Cross Parish embrace the general plan of the Church and of the Diocese of San Diego which is the message of the Gospel. The general plan of the Diocese and of our parish is to provide direction for all its parish faith communities toward UNITY, in COMMUNION, and MISSION which are the common vocation of all people: people of every race and nation; people of every language and culture, rich and poor alike. As a parish family acknowledging our diversity and our continual need for spiritual growth we as a community of faith are inspired to surrender to the Holy Spirit. Surrendering to the Holy Spirit we are called to COMMUNION, that is, to shared lives in love with God and each other, in the Spirit of Jesus. In the same Spirit, we have a MISSION in behalf of that COMMUNION, the MISSION of Christ entrusted to his disciples in every generation. OUR MISSION We are called to be FAITHFUL by using our gifts, we are sent to hand on the faith, to know Christ and to make Him known. We as a parish are responsible for ministries of evangelization and catechesis for all our parishioners of every age. We as a parish are called to be HOLY, to focus our lives in the mystery of God’s love for us in Jesus, and to have the ability to see Christ in others. We as a parish are responsible for ministries of good liturgy and spirituality. We are also called to be COMPASIONATE, to love one another, to embrace the diversity of all our parishioners, especially the poor and those with special needs. As God loves us in Jesus, we are responsible for Catholic social justice, and pastoral ministries in all languages needed. Therefore, to be in COMMUNION and to accomplish our MISSION together as a parish family, we must continually demonstrate sensitivity and manifest appreciation for our cultural diversity. We must avoid assimilation where uniqueness and difference are lost. We must avoid isolation where division is the result. We must work for integration as ONE parish community, ONE family of God, ONE body of Christ, and people in COMMUNION with a common MISSION. Plan General Parroquia San Juan de la Cruz (Concilio Pastoral Parroquial) Nosotros los feligreses de la Parroquia de San Juan de la Cruz acogemos el plan general de la Iglesia y de la Diócesis de San Diego, el cual es el mensaje del Evangelio. El plan general de la Diócesis y de nuestra parroquia tiene el objetivo de proveer dirección a toda comunidad de fe parroquial hacia la UNIDAD, en COMUNION, y MISION que son las vocaciones comunes de todas las gentes: gentes de todas las razas y naciones, de todos los idiomas y culturas, tanto a ricos como a pobres. Como familia parroquial reconociendo nuestra diversidad y nuestra continua necesidad de crecimiento espiritual y como comunidad de fe, somos inspirados a entregarnos al Espíritu Santo. Al entregarnos al Espíritu Santo, estamos llamados a COMUNION, o sea, a compartir nuestras vidas con amor a Dios y hacia cada uno de nosotros, en el Espíritu de Jesús. En el mismo Espíritu, tenemos una MISION en parte de esa COMUNION, la MISION que Cristo les ha encomendado a sus discípulos en cada generación. NUESTRA MISION Estamos llamado a ser FIELES usando nuestros dones y enviados a transmitir la fe, a conocer a Cristo y a darlo a conocer. Como parroquia somos responsables por los ministerios de la evangelización y la catequesis para todos nuestros feligreses de toda edad. Estamos llamados a ser SANTOS, a enfocar nuestra vida en el misterio del amor de Dios por nosotros en Jesús, y tener la habilidad de ver a Cristo en otras personas. Nosotros como parroquia somos responsables por los ministerios de la buena liturgia y de la espiritualidad. Estamos llamados también a ser COMPASIVOS, a amarnos mutuamente, a acoger la diversidad de todos nuestros feligreses, especialmente los pobres y a aquellos que tienen necesidades especiales. Así como Dios nos ama en Jesús, somos responsables por la justicia social Católica, y los ministerios pastorales en todo lenguaje necesario. Por lo tanto, para estar en COMUNION y para que todos llevemos a cabo nuestra MISION como familia parroquial, tenemos que demostrar sensibilidad y manifestar aprecio por nuestra diversidad cultural. Debemos evitar la asimilación donde se pierde lo único y lo distinto. Debemos evitar el aislamiento cuyo resultado es la división. Tenemos que trabajar para la integración como UNA comunidad parroquial, UNA familia de Dios, UN cuerpo de Cristo, y una COMUNION de personas con una MISION común. |
