MARCH 22, 2012

All high school students and young adults: Come out and join us as we make
the journey to Los Angeles on Thursday March 22th for the annual Youth
Day! More than 15,800 people from different backgrounds from throughout
Southern California -- and beyond -- come together to participate in music,
mass, workshops, and a youth rally. The cost is $70, and include
registration, transportation, t-shirt and lunch. If you are interested in learning
more about this day come to youth group and talk to Steve or contact
Cristina at
cristina_mango@hotmail.com or 619-729-2228 The theme for the
day is "Called Out: Challenge Accepted." We are CALLED OUT to serve
others and share the Good News. We say CHALLENGE ACCEPTED when
we are God for others and become the light that leads others out of the
darkness.
JR YOUTH GROUP
Meets on the first Wednesday of every month at the Youth Center from
7:00pm to 8:15pm. For 6th-7th-8th graders.
YOUTH GROUP
Meets every Monday Night from 7pm to 9pm at the St. John of the Cross
Youth Center. For ages 14-18.
“God created the heavens and the earth” and the youth is going to help honor this gift by
setting a commitment to start a parish wide recycling program. Starting in January 2012
the youth of St John of the Cross invites everyone to bring all plastic bottles, glass bottles,
aluminum cans, and paper (newspaper, magazines, mail etc.) to the front of the church
on the 2nd Sunday of every month. We are striving to extend the life of the landfills in San
Diego County, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, conserve natural resources and aid in
making products from recycled materials which uses less energy and water. See you
January 8th!
