| “God created the heavens and the earth” and the youth is going to help honor this gift by setting a commitment to start a parish wide recycling program. Starting in January 2012 the youth of St John of the Cross invites everyone to bring all plastic bottles, glass bottles, aluminum cans, and paper (newspaper, magazines, mail etc.) to the front of the church on the 2nd Sunday of every month. We are striving to extend the life of the landfills in San Diego County, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, conserve natural resources and aid in making products from recycled materials which uses less energy and water. See you January 8th! |
